It is hard to believe we are already well into the second month of 2008. It won’t belong before it is time to complete the Information Technology (IT) Interest Group’s submission for the Circle of Excellence. Your Committee would like to include your contributions in promoting CPCU and the Information Technology Interest Group. Thanks to all of you who contributed last year; because of you, the IT Interest Group was awarded the gold. We, of course, want to keep the gold streak going this year. As our submission is comprised of the activities of our members, we cannot do it without you.
Activities eligible for consideration should meet the general criteria of adding value to Interest Group membership and to CPCU membership at large, and promoting visibility of the CPCU Society and CPCU designation. Below are some of the qualifying activities for the Interest Group’s Circle of Excellence. Please provide us with the activities you have been or will be involved with from July 1, 2007 to June 30, 2008. I want to stress that the activities below are not all the activities that could qualify. If you have any question on whether an activity qualifies, please send it to us and we can determine if it can be put in the submission.
- Have you participated in or conducted a symposium, workshop, or turnkey project for a non-CPCU audience where CPCU or the IT Interest Group was acknowledged?
- How have you promoted the CPCU Designation within your company or organizations?
- Have you participated in or conducted a CPCU Chapter Meeting presentation, symposium or workshop for CPCU members? For example, have you sponsored a topic or spoken at a chapter luncheon or meeting? If so, we would need dates, title of topic, and estimated attendance number.
- Have you developed a CPCU Turnkey Program?
- Have you taught any classes, e.g. AIC, CPCU? If so, we need the title of the class, the dates, and where it was taught.
- Have you published articles for any non-CPCU publications where CPCU or the IT Interest Group was acknowledged?
- Have you prepared a research project for a Chapter, Interest Group, or the CPCU Society?
- Have you sponsored, developed or participated in a program matching new designees to the IT Interest Group?
- Have you participated in or conducted an outreach program, e-mail or letter, for the CPCU Society or Chapter membership?
- Have you participated in or conducted any other activity where the CPCU Society, CPCU designation or the Information Technology Interest Group was promoted or recognized?
Please send a brief description of the activity and copies of your presentations, articles, or handouts, if any, to david.mowrer.apxd@statefarm.com no later than June 23, 2008.
The IT Interest Group Committee appreciates your efforts to promote CPCU and our Interest Group and maintain the integrity of our profession. Thank you for taking the time to respond.
